I know its hard when you have a specific fruit or vegetable in mind but when you walk into a supermarket you can't even find it! Want to know why? Chances are it's probably not in season at that time. Whilst searching on the tumblr I found this amazing chart that lists when every fruit and veggie is in season. I hope it is helpful to you all because produce is far too expensive to pick wrong. Can I get an amen on that one ladies?
Here are my favorite fruit & veggies that I eat all year round:
I get it, this journey isn't easy or perfect. There are times when we simply cannot resist the urge to have something a little bit risky. Something that isn't in your tracker, something you have no intention of writing once your done biting. For a lack of a better word, it is the it that shall never be named; the Binge.
It makes us feel good for a moment then ten seconds after we feel guilty as hell and tons of disappointment. It makes us question the direction of the rest of our day and our weekly plan! It takes full control over us and we kind of fall victim easily.
But to avoid this whole process, we just need to keep our minds busy and come up with ways to combat that inner desire from our guts. Here are few distractions you can work on when you get that, "OMG I want to eat any and everything in this house" feeling.
Hey ladies! I thought we all needed a quick, easy, lesson in plates. I know being on a weight loss journey is tough and some things aren't written out in a manual book to easily access. However, luckily Glo & I are here to help you all out the best way I can.
Before my journey I had not a clue that my plate was supposed to look a certain way. But it certainly is! So listen up, take notes, and make changes to your plate if necessary (no one is perfect):
It is advised that half your plate be consumed with leafy greens and vegetables.
A quarter should contain grains or starch
A quarter should contain your protein or meat which should be between 3 and 4 oz the most
3 Quick Tips:
Use a salad plate to make it easier not too overdue your portions. I find this extremely healthy and it creates the illusion that my plate is crowded with food when it really isn't
Use measurement tools! Don't be afraid to place your meal on a scale to determine that it is exactly 3 oz or use a measurement cup to make sure you're putting precisely 1 cup worth of rice on your dish
Remember to track it! You bite it you write it ladies!!!
This outfit makes me think of running and running fast! I can't tell you how good it feels to jog for a little as someone who isn't that athletic running for me was a huge challenge and still is. But the fact that I choose to face this challenge and make a game of it, is actually great. But back to this work out outfit, I love those trainers and that uber cute watch. I don't know in a perfect world, I would flaunt the hell out of this outfit but for now in the real world, I'll just lust after it for a while haha. I hope you are all holding onto your goals and making them apart of your reality. We have to stick together, we have to say strong!
So ever since I purchased my GNC Whey Protein Powder I have been addicted to making smoothies. This week I wanted to share one of my many recipe combinations. I was feeling for something tangy, sweet, and citrus. I searched around my house and found the perfect fruits to combine in my handy one serving size Hamilton Beach Blender. (I'll do a review on this baby in the near future)
I know you're probably wondering how the heck does mixed berries and citrus taste but I promise you it is nothing short of delicious. It may seem unusual but the protein powder balances out majority of the taste!
I am a huge fan of the measurement tape as sometimes the scale doesn't exactly move but inches ALWAYS move. I measure myself at least every month to keep track of my progress and it is awesome. However, it took me a long time to actually figure out how exactly to measure! So of course over on Tumblr, I found this amazing guide on tracking your measurements. I hope this is helpful to you all because it most certainly has been helpful to me!
