Motivational Monday

This sports bra is my motivation! I've always wanted to be able to freely exercise, and I've always wanted to one day experience the feeling of working out in a sports bra and yoga pants. I feel this way because I cant recall ever being able to show off my tummy in public. I would like to achieve this goal at least within a year or two depending upon my weight-loss success. I want success and this is my motivation! Just because I'll be displaying my tummy doesn't mean I will have killer abs but I will be lookn fit n fab!!

This Bikini is my motivation.  I've never worn one in my entire life and I would love the pleasure of doing so before my 30's. I want to be able to strut confidently even if I am not a size 2 in a bikini someday. This Monday I share my personal motivation with you! Bikini season won't just be a dream for me anymore. I'm working on making it a reality.

Ladies, always remember to:

What's your motivation?

Weight loss Interview feat. DivaSlimsDown!!!!

Diva Slims Down Weight loss Success Interview

How many lbs lost and time frame? 150 pounds lost in 10 months

1.     What motivated/inspired you to lose weight?
There are many things that inspired me to lose weight. The main thing was my health. I decided it was time to lose weight because I was starting to have health problems.  I was on the road to having type 2 diabetes and with changing my eating habits and exercising there was a chance that I could prevent it.  Also, I wanted to do something that my grandmother could be proud of. Another one of my biggest motivations/ inspirations was I wanted to live longer to see my niece and nephews get older.
2.     What would you consider the hardest part to losing weight?
I think the hardest part about losing weight is staying focused. You will have days where you do great and feel you can slack off. Then you will have days where you didn’t do great and feel why bother. Every day my goal is to stay focused on the task at hand. What I did yesterday is over and now I have to focus on doing better today.
3.     What was/is your nutrition and exercise regimen?
I drink tons of water. I do not drink any sodas anymore. I eat similar things as before but less of it. I also find healthier ways to make the foods I like. I don’t eat frozen dinners like lean cuisine etc. They have too much sodium. I make sure I’m eating throughout the entire day 5-6 small meals.  For example for breakfast I will have eggs and turkey bacon.  Next I will have a snack, which can be any fruit of my choice. Then for lunch I will have a chicken salad. I will have another snack of fruit and a 100-calorie pack snack. For dinner I will have chicken breast with vegetables.  Then have another snack like almonds or fruit.
As far as for exercise in the beginning I could only do 15 minutes of walking 2-3 days a week. As I got more endurance my workouts grew longer. Now I workout 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. 6 days a week for 2-3 hours a day.  In the morning I do a shorter workout, usually a workout DVD that’s less then 30 minutes. In the afternoons I go to Curves and do my strength training and then do an hour zumba class.
4.     What was/is your favorite exercises? My favorite exercise is doing zumba. It’s extremely fun! It doesn’t even feel like you are exercises.
5.     What form of exercise would you recommend to a beginner? I would recommend if you never exercised before to start out walking.
6.     What motivational material inspired you to continue your journey? What kept me motivated throughout my journey is making youtube videos. It really helps me and holds me accountable each week to do my best.
7.      During your journey did you hit a plateau and what did you do to overcome it? I have hit many plateaus in my journey. I found either changing up the food or exercises always help me get back into weight loss mode.
8.      What would you have changed from the beginning of your journey now that you have learned form your success? If I could go back and change anything I would be to get over my fear of sweating and working out. I didn’t like the fact that working out made me look like a “hot mess”. I now know that if you really want to see results you have to put in the work and sweat the pounds off.

2 Personal Questions
1.    Has your weight loss made a change in how you see yourself? When I first started my journey I didn’t think someone as big as me could lose weight naturally and on my own. Once I started believing in myself I learned that I could do this. I never knew that I was so strong and determined until I started losing weight. I finally got to see what I was really capable of doing when I put 100 percent into it.
2.    What did you have to overcome in order to continue your journey? I to get rid of all the self-doubt. I had to learn that with hard work and true belief in myself that I can do anything I put my mind to.

We strongly encourage you to check out DivaSlims down on her youtube channel! She has a wide range of great advice and motivation to pass down to others! Oh and I must add Diva is still dropping pounds and losing inches!!! Wooohooo!!!

And to add ladies there is no limit on the amount of success you’ve had. If you know someone or if you want to share your success, be sure to email us at 2bfitfabfierce@gmail.com so we can interview you or a friend!!

Recipe of the week(HG)

Hello Ladies,

So this week I have a recipe to share that is very interesting and EASSSYYY to make, oh and did I mention its CAKE CAKE CAKE! While watching Dr.Oz a few weeks ago, on the show was the fabulous Hungry Girl. While on the show she showed several recipes that were awesome-healthy, easy to prepare and inexpensive! For more details, If you're interested you can visit the site . last week I prepared the Chicken Parm you can check it out here I got the recipe from an older version which can be found here.  So to the recipe already........

Club Soda Chocolate Cake

1/12th of cake: 171 calories, 3.5g fat, 301mg sodium, 34g carbs, <0.5g fiber, 19g sugars, 1.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Ingredients:
One 18.25-oz. box moist-style devil's food cake mix (or other chocolate cake mix)
One 12-oz. can club soda

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" X 13" baking pan with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl, whisk cake mix with soda until smooth. Pour into the pan.

Bake until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 - 35 minutes.

Slice and enjoy!

MAKES 12 SERVINGS

Okay so here’s my version! Due to the fact that I didn’t follow the recipe when I went to the grocery store I picked up the wrong amount of cake mix. I bought a cake mix that had about 3 oz’s less, so what I did to supplement that I poured 3 oz’s less of club soda.  Other than that I followed the directions as listed and decided to add a little décor to my cake (sprinkles of course)!!!! Oh and I added some chocolate frosting! So I decided to use half of the frosting and that adds about 50 calories or < to the recipe. I just can’t do regular cake without icing..... So here's my picts……

Ending result……. Fabulous, inexpensive and HEAAALLLTHHHYYY!!!WooooHooo

Our Monthly Weightloss Report

Challenges: This month wasn't much of a success but I did accomplish a few things from my checklist. I plan to accomplish all my goals for the month of April. I DEMAND CHANGE!!!!

Accomplishments: Im really surprised that I overcame a few things in the past month; the things that I accomplished were;
  • Overcame Late night munchies
  • Spinning for the 2nd time
  • Became a frequent vistor at my local YMCA
  • Completed Meatless Mondays with Daisy
Peak: My intake of Vegetables and Fruit improved tremendously! Especially because of my love making smoothies!

Pit: Not accomplishing everthing on my goal list; they were...
  • Losing a total of 10 lbs (2 lbs per week)
  • Trying out the Sauna at my Gym
Stats: Unfortunately, I dont have any stats to share, I have yet to measure! ughh I guess I will have to make that one of my goals for the month.

Goals for April: This month I have a few goals in mind, they are;
o   Continue to workout for 3x a week
o   Continue to get more protein in my diet
o   Try a new healthy recipe
o   Stay within a 1200-1300 caloric diet
o   Get Body Measurements
Hey girls hey! I hope March was productive for you all and if it wasn't thank goodness for yet another chance to do better. We must always remember that everyday is a new day to make a difference in our lives. So I'm encouraging you all to access your March and see what you accomplished, what you wished you did, and make some new goals! Give yourself a reason to keep pushing forward because if you don't no one else will.

I also want to take the time to thank the 5 new followers we've gained and welcome you to the Fit, Fab, Fierce family! You all make our days brighter with your feedback on posts. I totally appreciate it.

Challenges: This month my menstrual cycle came back to me with a vengeance like no other before! I mean, I'm shocked that I gained a total of 5lbs from it in one week. I usually average between a 2-3lb gain when I'm on my menstrual. But needless to say, the gain really shook me up and I kind of lost ammunition when the weight wouldn't shed will I was pushing in 3 workouts a week! It baffled the hell out of me indeed.

Another challenge was going to visit my parents on the weekend and completely going off track. They have all the junk food in the world and I caved in like 260lb Daisy! I have to make it my business to track on the weekends that I'm home because those 3 days can jeopardize a whole weeks worth of hard work!

Accomplishments:
Well my goals for March were to:
  • Lose at least -5 lbs.
  • Try out pilates class.
I can't believe I really got all of this done plus more. I even accomplished running on the treadmill for 4 minutes straight! I remember the first time I ran for a minute and thought I would die. I have it in me to succeed just like those contestants on the biggest loser who really push their bodies to the limit. If they can do it, so can I!

Peak: Going an entire week without frozen/TV dinners and eating home cooked meals. This experience taught me that I have it in me to prepare fresh meals daily while making the right choices! Usually, I think I MUST have a TV dinner twice a week to keep me on track but this time around I didn't need it and I succeeded in keeping on track plus I even had Chinese takeout! Yay!

Pit: Recognizing & Admitting how self-conscious I've been feeling lately (ie. My Fat Girl Complex). You can read a bit more about that hereLosing -5lbs but still being at the same starting point I entered in the beginning of the year. I can't be too mad because I have achieved, sometimes we have to back track a little to get back on course!

Stats:
  • Current Weight:  223lbs | 220.2 lbs
  • Goal Weight: 200lbs
  • Measurements:
    • Waist - 47 in | 44.5 in | 42 in
    • Bust - 48 in | 44 in | 45 in
    • Thighs - 46. 5 in | 40.5 in | 40 in
    • Arms - 16 in | 15 in
Goals for April:
  • Lose at least -5 lbs.
  • Jog/run for 5 minutes straight.
  • Print out positive affirmations to stay focused, motivated, and fit.
  • Try & Share new recipes.
  • Purchase a heart rate monitor calorie counter watch.
  • Be able to plank for 60 seconds.
