Glo is BACK!!!!!!!!

Hello Lovelies, it’s your girl GLO. I’ve been on a serious hiatus and haven’t blogged since forever. Although I haven’t been blogging, I have been implementing exercise within my daily routine and trying to eat healthier. By looking at my workouts as apart of my day, I don’t dread doing them as much. I know with the New Year approaching, there will be many bloggers posting, so I wanted to get ahead of the rush! Every year I’ve made the weight loss goal, this up and coming year I plan to just build upon how far I’ve come. Nonetheless, I do plan to be on some beach wearing a bikini in the summer of 2013. So it’s ON!!!!! Below are a few pics from #2012 (potentially before shots) In case you’re new to the blog and you’re interested in getting to know more about me I have a personal blog (haven't updated that in while either) that you can
visit if you’re interested click here… I also want to share with you that I have become a Zumba FANatic and I use myfitnesspal.com to track, if you'd like to add me there click here

Until next time……..

The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating

1. Shake the idea of this being a diet because it is a lifestyle change
2. If you feel hungry feed your appetite appropriately.
3. Don't let the "food police" dictate what you can and cannot eat. You are the boss of your body!
4. Accept that food is necessary but it is not controlling your life. Make peace and move on.
5. Listen to your body. If you feel full do not try to tip over that hill. Moderation is always key!
6. If you eat the right foods, participate in engaging activities, and sleep well. You will be satisfied!
7. Find healthy ways to deal with your feelings. Distract your mouth from food, no more emotional eating.
8. Research the diseases and illnesses in your family. Learn from them and try to prevent them. RESPECT!
9. Start moving. Create a fitness routine that works for you and exercise for your well being.
10. Honor your commitment to health. Remember your intentions and stay focused on achievement!

Guide To Fall Super Foods

It's Fall and obviously certain fruits and vegetables are no longer available. At the moment these power foods are in season and on the market. They contain variety of health benefits as well. My favorite Fall power foods are: sweet potatoes, cinnamon, and eggplant. They have that heartiness that keeps you feeling full and warm inside.

What about you?

Work Out Wednesday: 5 Gifs To Keep You Moving!

Happy Work Out Wednesday ladies! This week I wanted to change up the flow this week and share a few gif clips to get you all moving. There are so many different moves out there that we either a) get too overwhelmed and stick to a select few or b) are too afraid to try any. Here are some clips that give a peek at what your form, technique, and structure should look like during these key moves. I hope they inspire you to try something different and new. Even if you try each move once you'll be one step closer to being fit!

1.) ABS: Focus on hitting your core and attacking those abs of flab! (10 reps each side)

2.) BUTT: Donkey Kicks help tighten that glute into a perky piece of perfection. (10 reps each side)

3.) LEGS: Hit those lunges with everything you've got and build that muscle. (10 reps each side)

4.) ARMS: Grab a 2 lb weight and get those arms swinging for tight guns. (10 reps each side)

5.) TOTAL: Jumping rope targets all of your needs as an all intensive workout (10 minutes)

Ladies don't forget to stretch it out!

Work Out Wednesday | Review: Saucony Fastwitch 5 Sneaker

This Workout Wednesday I wanted to share a review! I've been feeling less motivated these days so I decided to the next best thing. I bought a cute pair of sneakers to inspire me to keep pushing forward in my fitness endeavors. I found these beauties at my local Marshall's Shoe Store and surprisingly they were under $40. I've never owned a pair of Saucony's and was curious to find out their capabilities. I feel like I always go after Nike's just out of habit but this time around I totally wanted to try something new. These are called Saucony Fastwitch 5. Of course the pink drew me in but when I put them on they felt amazing!

(here's a photo of them on my feet)

Logistics:
  • Sizing: I am usually an 8 or 8.5 but these run a bit small. I had to get a size 9.5 so be careful!
  • Flexibility: I love how much stretch I get in these. During my spin class I was able to flex and arch my feet comfortably. Running in these on the treadmill is a breeze
  • Weight: These are very light weight although looks may be a bit deceiving. There's plenty of support.
  • Structure: The mesh layer allows plenty of breath-ability for my feet, so there's no worry about stinky sweaty feet after a tense workout, a major plus.

Pros:
  • They are super duper cute, I love pink and black. These two colors are practical for all four seasons and add enough pop to keep you excited about hitting the gym.
  • Very light weight, flexible, and comfortable.

Cons:
  • I'm not too sure if it was my gym's flooring, perhaps the wax was fresh, but I felt the grip was a little slippery when I was doing a few Pilates moves. I found myself sliding all over the damn place.
  • They run very small so like l said a size and a half larger might be your best bet.

If you are feeling drab in the fitness department, inspire yourself with a brand new pair of sneakers! And don't forget to grab your water bottle and stay hydrated. Too much is never enough! Better safe than sorry.

The Scoop On The Benefits of Brown Rice

Brown rice is one of the most underrated health foods out there. It packs flavor, nutrients, and less calories. I mean, who could ignore that? I found this manual floating around on tumblr and knew I had to share it with you all. I know its so easy to say yes to white rice out of habit but I dare you to try out brown rice and tell me it doesn't taste or make you feel better. This one substitution can literally help save your life!

Here's How I like to Eat My Brown Rice:
  1. Beef and Broccoli
  2. Chicken Broth and grilled chicken
  3. Chives!
