Citrus Mixed Fruit Berry Protein Smoothie

So ever since I purchased my GNC Whey Protein Powder I have been addicted to making smoothies. This week I wanted to share one of my many recipe combinations.  I was feeling for something tangy, sweet, and citrus. I searched around my house and found the perfect fruits to combine in my handy one serving size Hamilton Beach Blender.  (I'll do a review on this baby in the near future)

I know you're probably wondering how the heck does mixed berries and citrus taste but I promise you it is nothing short of delicious. It may seem unusual but the protein powder balances out majority of the taste!

Recipe of the week(HG)

Hello Ladies,

So this week I have a recipe to share that is very interesting and EASSSYYY to make, oh and did I mention its CAKE CAKE CAKE! While watching Dr.Oz a few weeks ago, on the show was the fabulous Hungry Girl. While on the show she showed several recipes that were awesome-healthy, easy to prepare and inexpensive! For more details, If you're interested you can visit the site . last week I prepared the Chicken Parm you can check it out here I got the recipe from an older version which can be found here.  So to the recipe already........

Club Soda Chocolate Cake

1/12th of cake: 171 calories, 3.5g fat, 301mg sodium, 34g carbs, <0.5g fiber, 19g sugars, 1.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Ingredients:
One 18.25-oz. box moist-style devil's food cake mix (or other chocolate cake mix)
One 12-oz. can club soda

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" X 13" baking pan with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl, whisk cake mix with soda until smooth. Pour into the pan.

Bake until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 - 35 minutes.

Slice and enjoy!

MAKES 12 SERVINGS

Okay so here’s my version! Due to the fact that I didn’t follow the recipe when I went to the grocery store I picked up the wrong amount of cake mix. I bought a cake mix that had about 3 oz’s less, so what I did to supplement that I poured 3 oz’s less of club soda.  Other than that I followed the directions as listed and decided to add a little décor to my cake (sprinkles of course)!!!! Oh and I added some chocolate frosting! So I decided to use half of the frosting and that adds about 50 calories or < to the recipe. I just can’t do regular cake without icing..... So here's my picts……

Ending result……. Fabulous, inexpensive and HEAAALLLTHHHYYY!!!WooooHooo

No Harm Parm Recipe

Hey Ladies,

It’s Glo I’m back with a recipe courtesy of Hungry Girl. I’ve made this meal and it’s very delish! And for the amount of calories/points it can’t be beat. I found this recipe to be very simple and easy to make, and let me not forget affordable $! I hope you find this dish to be interesting as I did and turn on the stove lol! Be sure to share your experience if you decide to make this!!!

Ingredients:
5 oz. boneless skinless chicken breast (raw)
1/3 cup Fiber One cereal
1/4 cup Egg Beaters, Original**
3/4 tsp. reduced fat grated parmesan cheese
1 oz. (approx. 1/4 cup) shredded fat-free mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup canned tomato sauce
Optional: garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt and pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Using a blender or food processor, grind Fiber One cereal to a breadcrumb-like consistency. Add Parmesan to crumbs (if desired, season crumbs with optional spices, as well). Place crumbs in one small dish and Egg Beaters in another. Next, pound your chicken so it's a bit flattened. Coat raw chicken on both sides with egg substitute, and then coat with crumb mixture. Place chicken on a baking pan sprayed with nonstick spray. Spray a light mist of nonstick spray on top of chicken and place in oven. Cook for 10 minutes, and then turn chicken over. Add another light mist of nonstick spray and cook for an additional 10 - 12 minutes (or until chicken is fully cooked and coating looks crispy). Meanwhile, if desired, mix tomato sauce with your seasonings of choice. Remove chicken from oven, top with sauce and then cheese, and return chicken to oven until cheese is melted. Enjoy! Serves 1.
